Dear Harish The 2nd cover is much nicer than the top one: Because it is more dynamic and "graphical", it is more arresting, and it ties in better with what I'm going to suggest as an "angle" for the writing of your report. I wonder if you could try coming up with the following suggestion of mine.
I still can't get the phrase, WHITE BLOOD, out of my head. It comes from readings on the history of the temple. Something about the hero's blood being white when it gushed out when he was killed. And how Yap Ah Loy built this temple in memoriam of this hero - his boss - after which the temple is named. It was believed by many in those days - and perhaps to this day - that the white blood of SSSY had miraculous healing powers, and that legend kept the temple alive, drawing devotees to this day.
So I'm saying this legend makes this temple: It gives it its cultural identity, setting it apart from other temples, and it is uniqueness that we (and most people) are interested in.
So perhaps we can let that inspire our reporting, without losing our Main Research Question. cont:-
So the wordsmiths among you have to play with the words WHITE and BLOOD. And the graphicists among you - such as yourself - have to play on this theme.
Perhaps the lines in all your lovely separators want to be white - pure white - as if they were arteries and veins carrying white blood, or streams of white blood.
As for the cover, perhaps you could reverse the coloration - let the central band be white (and black and grey) - predominantly white. And let the present white background be reversed to black (or some other colour of your choice.)
The title can be "WHITE BLOOD - measuring the lifelines of the Sin Sze Si Ya Temple"
You don't need the word REPORT. In its place put, in small print, "The Measured Drawing Team: (put all your names in alphabetical order)"
Tutors names don't need to be on the cover, for we are not the authors, you guys are. I know you respect us, and we love all of you, too. But the cover has to be professional. Our names appear inside the report.
